Happy 19th Birthday Text Messaging

It’s hard to believe but it has been just over 19 years since the first text message was sent from a computer to a mobile phone, and 18 years since the first phones were produced that allowed people to send text messages to one another.  These days, text messaging is so common and widespread (especially among the younger generation) that it is hard to think of a time when it did not exist.

With text messaging, language has evolved as well.  Who hasn’t heard of LOL, a word which has been added to the Oxford English Dictionary (and which doesn’t mean Lots of Love, as some people think).

    I have an iPod Touch. I called someone 1 time, but I have sent probably about 500 texts.

    ummmm….i love ur app just it sometimes doesnt work. also sometimes i try to make a call it DOESNT work also aqnother thing is that it wont let me always send massages it will say matnince is being held so if u could mabey do the matnince of a new version so we have to re-download the app but other wise I LOVE IT SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH and i will always use it and tell my friends

    I love the app also but sometimes when I try to call somebody, the ipod goes out.#Bummer but other than that its AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I’m 14 and use this app literally everyday, I’ve noticed that it has been crashing a lot recently though… Could this be because my device is jailbroken or are others having the same problem?

      This may be due to the fact that your device is jailbroken. TextNow does not officially support Jailbroken devices. The best option would likely be to delete and reinstall the application.

    I use this app its great. The only thing is when you call out the number shows unknown or restricted how do you unblock your number.

    Been recieving (politely) some rauncht texts from #707-232-7618. Can u please get whoever to stop doing this. Its annoying. Not very good for your business. I could report it to the police and then….

    I stopped paying my cell phone over a year ago and I have been using this app sense then and honestly I haven’t had not one problem for it to be free there really is not a reason to complain it could be a whole lot worse but its actually useful at least to me it is and I text more than I call but when I do use the calling the call is very clear and works fine everyones different but I’m just saying for me I can’t complain thanks textnow.
